Elaine graduated from UCD with a first in Business and Law in 2012. She is co-founder of Improper Butter,
During her summers as a student, she interned at Deloitte, Dublin and Goldman Sachs, London and experienced first hand the types of graduate role offered by the corporate world.
However, Elaine has always been creative with an entrepreneurial spirit. Her main passion and hobby has always been in food and cooking. She decided to take a chance and instead of accepting a graduate training contract, took herself off to the French Alps where she honed her skills as a chalet chef.
In her spare time, Elaine started working on ideas for her next career step. In the kitchen she developed her own range of cooking butters, which she used to add to guest’s meals.
Upon her return to Dublin in May 2013 she was ready to test these out on the Irish public and began selling in farmers markets one month later in June 2013. She approached co-founder Hannah, to come on board to help with branding and marketing, and since then has not looked back once!
